The Atlantic had an interesting article that focused on a Harvard study about how people speak. Specifically what they called various items and said various phrases. The english language is quite diverse, and when you add in the various dialects from around the United States it can be incredibly complicated for people to learn.
After news of a partial plant shutdown (due to upset neighbors) a 33-minute documentary is available on Vimeo ($5 to view). The trailer below looks pretty interesting. Might be just the thing to watch tonight and forget about these cold temps in Central Indiana!
Sure it looks pretty but this is one hell of a storm that’s blowing through the midwest tonight. With wind chills expected around -40F tomorrow it’s going to be interesting to see how Central Indiana makes it through this one!
