Real Life Weekend at Bernie’s

This is just bizarre (and pretty sick).  I’m surprised these guys just got probation!

The two Denver men who commanded national headlines—and sparked the obligatory Weekend at Bernie’s jokes—last summer after taking their friend’s corpse out for a night on the town struck a plea deal this week that will keep them out of prison. [MORE]

Indianapolis Photography

My daughter & I are headed out to Crown Hill Cemetery to do some more photography experiments.  I’ve never been to Crown Hill but it sounds like a great place to photograph still life (no pun intended) as well as some great Indianapolis city landscapes.

We’re always looking for great places to shoot so if you have any suggestions we’d love to hear from you!

Dollar Shave Club

This company has received a lot of coverage on the Internet lately & I ended up giving it a try to see if it’s really worth it or not.  Check out the video below (funny) and the details are below that.

I signed up for the $6 a month plan & will report back after I’ve had a chance to try the blades out.  If these things are any good it’s going to be a big cost savings, especially if I can get other members of the household to sign up too.

15 Trillion Dollar Fraud Exposed in UK Parliament

From theintelhub.com:

Below is one of the strangest stories in financial history, one involving the US government lying about hundreds of thousands of tons of imaginary gold, illegal wire transfers and loans totaling $15 trillion.

The video, from the House of Lords, is amazing in itself.

What it doesn’t express is where the money came from though Lord James of Blackheath proves conclusively that an effort was made to say it came from a gold reserve in Brunei that, in fact, never existed. [MORE]

Unfortunately he says 50-Trillion instead of 5-trillion but it all adds up to a LOT of money!  Any idea what US department went “Rogue” to pull this off (Treasury, State, CIA, DIA)?  Pretty amazing store that’s also pretty hard to believe.  If this is true it has to be one of the largest money laundering operations in the history of the world.

App Tabs & Tab Groups in Firefox

OK, I totally missed these features & they’ve been a part of Firefox for several versions.  I guess thats what I get for skipping the tutorials and not reading the manual.  After it’s just a browser, right?

Firefox Tab Groups [Video Link] allow you to group together sites into collections.  This allows you to better organize all the open windows and even keep a set of pages always available (but out of the way).

Firefox App Tabs [Video Link] allow you to “pin” often used sites to your tab bar for easy access.  They can’t be deleted/closed by accident either. The cool thing is that App Tabs will actually show up in Tab Groups.

I’m digging through the Firefox documentation tonight to see what else I’ve misd.  I’ve used the sync app for years and it’s a great way to keep several computers in sync with bookmarks and even open tabs.

What are your favorite features in Firefox?

Cincinnati Ohio – HDR Photography (Part 1 of 3)

I had the opportunity to spend some time in Cincinnati over the weekend and spent part of that time playing with a new type of photography (new to me).  HDR photography uses multiple photos set at various exposures (over/under the correct exposure).  Once combined the images reveal a lot more detail than the properly exposed image.
