Daylight Saving Time Increases Energy Use in Indiana?

The New York Times Freakonomics (opinion) section has an article saying Southern Indiana actually used 1% more electricity after DST was implemented.  I for one actually enjoy the extra hour of daylight in the summer & was happy Indiana finally passed the bill that was debated for the past 10 years.

  1. I think the Indiana DST stinks. Dannials says it helps bussiness but they still close at the same times and it was still light out before. Now that he changed the times I go to work all year in the dark. I did have some daylight before. I am a worker that goes to work at 5 to 5:30 am. The roads I travel on to go to work are infested with deer so the risk of hitting them are increased driveing in the dark. I drive a motorcycle to save gas so think what would happen if I hit a deer. Unhappy about the DST change.
