‘Boneless’ Wings, the Cheaper Bite?

chicken-wingsFor all you Buffalo Wing fans out there, this article in the NYTimes explains why prices are going up and specials are not so special anymore…  Hard to believe the CHICKEN WING is now a premium part of the bird!

It took me a while to understand the draw of the wing.  Being a boneless fan for years I finally ordered a plate, bone in.  WOW what a difference!  Boneless is not even considered anymore.  It’s bone-in or nothing for this guy!

Taqueria Guanajuato – Indianapolis, IN

asada-tacoAfter reading a great review from local food blog “Would I Buy It Again?” I had to take a few guys from work to this place for lunch.  Since it’s only about 5 miles from the office it was a quick trip.

Taqueria Guanajuato is located inside the Carniceria Guanajuatoin grocery store at 3110 N. Shadeland Ave Indianapolis, IN.  Their website lists another location on Oliver Ave. as well as Restaurante Guanajuato, which is currently under construction at the Oliver Ave. location.

Just inside the door of the grocery you hear the music and the customers.  This place is hoppin’!  This grocery has the usual assortment of taqueria-burritoMexican staples.  if you are looking for VERY GOOD prices on dried chilies it’s work a trip to this place.  You can get a huge 1lb bag of dried Ancho’s for $4.99! Nickel Plate Bar & Grill – Fishers, Indiana

Looking For The BEST Chicken Fingers you have ever had?  The Nickel Plate Bar & Grill in Fishers is the place to go!  Not only does this place have a great atmosphere (it’s an old train station) the Nickel Plate has the best chicken fingers hands down.  Paired up with their homemade honey mustard (another “best” in my opinion) and you have a winning combination.

Located in “downtown” Fishers, Indiana, this place has been around for as long as I can remember.  It’s known by the locals as a place to catch a Steelers game during football season in Colt’s country.  They even serve Iron City beer!

If you’re near the north side of Indy, it’s worth the drive up I-69 to 116th street for a bar you won’t soon forget.
