Do You Twitter?

I’ve been playing with Twitter for a few months & I’m starting to get hooked!  Twitter, for those of you new to the concept, allows you to broadcast a short message (similar to an SMS message) to all of your friends (or “followers”).

It’s a great way to keep up with friends/family. Now that I have an iPod Touch (more on that in a later post) its even easier to stay up to date on all of the Twitter happenings.

So, do you Twitter?  Follow me (IndyScan) & see what I’m up to!

Pandora Radio – Works Without An iPod Too!

Pandora Radio – Listen to Free Internet Radio, Find New Music.

Just went to the page & typed in one of my favorite bands (The Smiths) and BAM, I now have a Smiths channel!  Pretty darn cool & free to boot! Some of the suggestions are spot on. Several bands I completely forgot about are showing up in the playlist. I’m hooked!

My Favorite RSS Feeds

I’m an information junkie. I’ve found the best way for me to keep up with all of my interests is to utilize RSS feeds.

I’m currently using Google Reader to manage 106 feeds ranging from current events to entertainment and food to computers. Of course I also have a ton of GTD feeds I follow.  I like using a hosted RSS reader as it allows me to access my feeds from any PC (or PDA) & it keeps all of my feeds in sync.

Here are some of my top RSS picks:

Hope you find something interesting in the list above.  What are some of your favorite feeds?  Post your list in the comment section.

Why Are We so Against Nuclear Power?

The March issue of GQ had a really intriguing article titled “Meltdown” that raises a lot of questions regarding the use of Nuclear power in the United States. Interesting takeaway: The Nuclear “waste” we’re so worried about disposing of contains Plutonium that we could be using to power the plants! It’s being recycled in other countries with great success…

Favorite Podcasts

It’s been a while since I’ve posted (been traveling a lot)… I thought I’d share some information about the Podcasts I listen to while on the road.

Right now I’m subscribed to 36 podcasts. Some are updated daily, some weekly and some haven’t had an update in quite a while. I’m using iTunes to manage my library & it works really well for the most part. I’m still looking for a way to auto-sync my iPod at 0700 every morning. This would keep me from having to hit the sync button and wait every time… If you know if a script that will do this, please share!

I have several smart playlists setup in iTunes and my “Commute” playlist gets listened to daily. It contains the following Podcasts:

  1. NYTimes Front Page
  2. NPR 7AM News Update
  3. ABC Money Minute
  4. Slashdot Review
  5. CBS Radio World News Roundup
  6. Slate Explainer Podcast
  7. BBC Newspod
  8. Mr. Manners
  9. Get It Done Guy
  10. The Laporte Report

I’ve also located some great House Music Podcasts. I can’t dance (AT ALL), but I sure do like the music! Some of my favorite DJ’s are:

  1. Deep House Cat Show with D.J. philE
  2. DJ Cruze
  3. DJ SGL

Hope you’re able to find some new things to listen to from the links posted above. Time to light the grill, it’s steak night!
